After an initial release in China, Xiaomi is expanding the rollout of HyperOS 3.1 to other regions. Xiaomi, one of the most expensive phones in the world, update initially rolled out globally for the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, starting with Europe, and then quickly expanded to POCO and Redmi devices.

The latest internal test builds have been compiled and marked as release-ready. Here are the exact firmware versions currently staged on Xiaomi’s OTA servers:

  • Xiaomi 17 (EEA) Target Build: OS3.0.301.0.WPCEUXM (Android 16)
  • Xiaomi 15T Pro (EEA) Target Build: OS3.0.301.0.WOSEUXM (Android 16)
  • Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica & Leitzphone (EEA) Target Build: OS3.0.301.0.WPAEUXM (Android 16)

The global HyperOS 3.1 update for these devices is now only available in Europe, but it should be available in other regions soon.

If your device appears on the list, navigate to Settings > About Phone and tap the HyperOS logo at the top to check for available updates.

What to Expect with Xiaomi Hyperos 3.1 Global Release

The next Xiaomi HyperOS 3.1 update marks a significant architectural transition, owing to the fact that it is based entirely on the Android 16 platform. Devices that are ineligible for the Android 16 upgrade will not receive this version of HyperOS.

In addition to core system optimisations, this version includes much sought-after UI/UX changes and cross-platform capabilities:

  • Redesigned Recent Apps: A fluid, iOS-style recent apps interface for easier multitasking and gesture navigation.
  • Advanced iOS Connectivity: Seamless ecosystem integration connects Xiaomi devices to iOS, most likely using the Xiaomi HyperConnect framework to facilitate file and data sharing.
  • Enhanced Hyper Island: Improved animations, extended third-party app support, and more engaging dynamic notifications in the Hyper Island UI.

HyperOS 3.1 update for Poco Pad and Redmi Pad Pro

The HyperOS 3.1 update, based on Android 16, includes a slew of system-level optimisations and UI changes that enhance the user experience and productivity.

Xiaomi has redesigned numerous critical system apps to ensure very efficient resource consumption, resulting in noticeably faster performance.

The most recent HyperOS software introduces HyperIsland to tablets for the first time, while other devices get an updated HyperIsland experience that now includes richer animations, deeper third-party connectivity, and more intuitive real-time activity tracking.

The recent applications page now has an iOS-inspired design, with speedier gesture navigation, fluid card swiping, and improved visual management. The update now includes the Super OTA function, which applies system updates faster, with less reboot time and fewer failures.

HyperOS 3.1 improves cross-platform communication with Apple devices by introducing native support for Apple AirPods. This allows for speedy pop-up pairing and access to spatial audio on compatible earphones.
