Alessandro Del Piero, a Juventus star, says Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would be the clear favourite to win the Ballon d’Or if there was no FIFA World Cup this year.
Del Piero made the statement while discussing Paris Saint-Germain F.C.’s UEFA Champions League final victory over Arsenal FC.
The former Italy captain complimented Kvaratskhelia’s contribution this season, claiming that no other player has been as consistent as the Georgian in terms of goals, assists, and overall performance.
“If there were no World Cup, Kvaratskhelia would definitely win the Ballon d’Or from the Champions League,” Del Piero stated.
“Nobody has been as determined as him in terms of goals, assists and performances on the pitch.”
Kvaratskhelia was named UEFA Champions League Player of the Season after scoring 10 goals and providing six assists for PSG.
